A display of photos of Summerhill taken in 1967-68 by photographer, John Walmsley, for his final year project at Art School. They were published as a Penguin Education Special, "Neill & Summerhill: a Man and his Work", with a text collected by Leila Berg, in 1969. This display was put up in the Dining Room to mark his return visit (he took these modern colour photos) in 2010, 42 years later. Summerhill School, Leiston, Suffolk. The school was founded by A.S.Neill in 1921 and is run on democratic lines with each person, adult or child, having an equal say. You don't have to go to lessons if you don't want to but could play all day. It gets above average GCSE exam results.
